Tojo Yuriko
Born in Iwate Prefecture in 1925. In 1942, she studied under Dr. Saeki Nori, a pioneer in nutritional science in Japan at the time, and became a nutritionist. In 1949, he developed severe pulmonary tuberculosis, but overcame the disease by eating natural foods made from brown rice. Since then, he has devoted himself to a health movement centered on natural foods, and traveled to Okinawa, where the postwar chaos had not yet subsided, to light the light of health reform throughout the island, and devoted himself to the health movement in Okinawa. Known as the world's leading soy doctor, he studied under Dr. W. H. Miller, who was then director of the International Institute of Nutrition and director of the United Nations Health Organization. He became passionate about the health reform movement. In 1964, he returned to Tokyo from Okinawa and settled there, where he devoted himself to publishing, natural food cooking classes, nutrition classes, lectures, and educational activities to improve himself. In May 1973, he published the monthly magazine "You and Health," and since then has continued his movement, centering on publishing activities, to this day.
